METHOD FOR PRODUCING MULTIBRANCHED POLYMER, AND MULTIBRANCHED POLYMER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a narrowly dispersed multibranched polymer having a controlled molecular weight.

SOLUTION: The multibranched polymer is prepared by steps of: obtaining a dendrimer-type polymer compound having an oxygen atom at the terminal by repeating a step, wherein hydroxy carboxylic acid or hydroxy carboxylic acid halide having two or more hydroxyl groups is reacted with a trivalent or higher-valent polyhydric alcohol compound and the hydroxy carboxylic acid or hydroxy carboxylic acid halide is reacted with a hydroxyl group of the obtained reaction product, 1-200 times; reacting the dendrimer-type polymer compound with α-halogeno aliphatic carboxylic acid halide to obtain a core moiety having the structure wherein a group represented by -C(CH3)2-C(=O)-* is connected to the terminal; and polymerizing the terminal part of the core moiety and a monomer represented by formula (a11) under a living radical polymerization condition.
