<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To downsize a projector. <P>SOLUTION: A projector of the invention includes a first microlens array in which a plurality of first microlenses are arranged, a display element in which a plurality of display pixels for outputting projection pixel signals are arranged corresponding respectively to the plurality of first microlenses, an illumination device for illuminating the display element so as to emit a plurality of projection light bundles from the plurality of display pixels, an optical system for projecting the plurality of projection light bundles emitted from the plurality of display pixels and transmitted through the first microlens array onto a projection surface so as to project a projection image, and generating means for generating the projection pixel signals so that the projection image is projected in a state of being focused corresponding to a projection distance from the optical system to the projection surface, and the display element and the optical system have an optically conjugate relation with respect to the first microlens array. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
