<p>Discloseed in the present invention are a mobile communication system, and an automatic network-selecting method for a mobile terminal. A non-access stratum (NAS) starts a network-selecting process according to an automatic network-selecting request of a mobile terminal, and transmits indication information which represents whether full frequency range attempt is needed to be initiated or not, at the same time transmits a resident request of a certain network to an access stratum (AS); and in the residence of the network transmitted by the NAS, if the indication information represents that the full frequency range attempt is not needed to be initiated, the AS performs cell selection only according to the stored network information, and if the indication information represents that the full frequency range attempt is needed to be initiated, the AS initiates the full frequency range selection attempt again after the selection performed by using the stored network information fails. By using the invention, radio frequency resources can be more effectively utilized and a coverage area can be retrieved more quickly, when the user equipment (UE) in a mobile network performs network handover selecting after the UE is powered on and performs residence or after the coverage is lost.</p> |
