<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminous body control circuit which can adjust the luminance by an AC signal, and to provide a method of adjusting the luminance of the luminous body. <P>SOLUTION: A bridge rectifier 31 receives and rectifies an AC signal and outputs an input signal VIN having a conduction angle. A dimming circuit 330 configuring a controller 331 receives the input signal VIN having a conduction angle, and converts the input signal VIN into a DC signal so that the converted DC signal has the same conduction angle as that of the input signal VIN regardless of the magnitude of the input signal VIN. Luminance of an LED is determined by controlling a current flowing through an LED circuit 35 based on the converted DC signal.
