<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver having a single-antenna mode and a multiple-antenna mode. <P>SOLUTION: A receiver includes: two antennas 300 and 302; plural receiver-processing functions; a) a branch power detector 304 capable of determining power of each signal received by each antenna, comparing the powers of the signals and determining whether there is an unbalance between the powers of the signals; and b) a correlation detector 304 capable of determining a correlation between the signals received by the two antennas.
