<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique enabling specification of a vehicle position even if the vision direction of an on-vehicle camera is changed by the fluctuation of the vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: A method includes: extracting plural reference image characteristic points included in an image of a feature from a photographed image obtained by photographing a feature nearby a reference vehicle, obtaining a coordinate value indicating the position on the photographed image; obtaining a position of the reference vehicle at the time of photographing the feature as reference position; recording, as reference pattern information, the coordinate value of the reference image feature point and the reference position by correlating them in a predetermined recording medium; and, when recording the reference pattern information in the predetermined recording medium, determining a reference coordinate value to be the coordinate value of the reference image characteristic point, the reference coordinate value that is the coordinate value of a specific coordinate component, if a change in the coordinate value of the specific coordinate component in response to the fluctuation of the reference vehicle is equal to or less than a predefined amount at a plurality of the reference image characteristic points. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
