According to the present invention, a refrigerator capable of reducing energy bills is provided. The refrigerator of the present invention comprises: a door; a communication unit; a sensing unit; a memory unit; an output unit; and a control unit which detects an opening state of the door through the sensing unit, obtains an energy consumption amount that is consumed as a result of the door being opened by considering at least one of the opening state of the door and properties of the door, and outputs energy bill information resulting from the energy consumption by considering energy information received from the communication unit.
