PURPOSE: An electrophoretic display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to directly form an electrophoretic thin film transistor on a substrate where a thin film transistor is formed, thereby preventing misalignment between the electrophoretic layer and a first substrate. CONSTITUTION: A pixel electrode(118) is formed on an image display unit of a pixel area. The pixel area is formed on a protective layer. An electrophoretic layer(160) is formed on a first partition wall. The first partition wall is formed on the protective layer. A conductive layer(184) is formed on a second partition wall. A common electrode(142) is arranged on a second substrate. The common electrode is electrically conducted with a first substrate through a conductive layer.
