The image processing circuit 23 receives a processed brightness signal from a signal processing circuit 36. The timing controller 27 receives a delay amount from the memory of an electronic endoscope via a system controller 37 and the system controller 24. The dimming processing circuit 22 receives an original brightness signal component Y, a process synchronization signal, and the delay amount from a matrix circuit 35, the image process circuit 23, and the timing controller 27, respectively. The dimming processing circuit 22 integrates original brightness signal components from the start to the end of an imaging period based on the delay amount and the process synchronization signal.
