<p>The present invention relates to a method for protection switching in a complicated optical network and a network management system. The network management system can be used to acquire the data of the entire network. When a service path has failed, an optimal protection path can be provided to a user to perform protection switching according to preset factors such as the load occupancy rate of each line in the entire network, line aging degree, alarm occurring frequency, signal to noise ratio and so forth, which is advantageous for network optimization and for relieving pressure on the hardware system and the automatic protection switching (APS) bus.</p> |
