<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which has good stand-up stability of a leakproof wall and is excellent in lateral leakproof performance and liquid absorbability. <P>SOLUTION: A leakproof wall 6 is erected in a form of loop shape with a hollow part 60 in an excretion part opposite area C. Joint parts 8, 9 of the leak proof wall 6 with an absorbent body 5 are arranged separately in the body width direction Y, a space 10 is formed between both joint parts 8, 9, and a hollow part 60 is communicated with an absorbent body storage part 40 via the space 10. A section view shape of the leakproof wall 6 along the body width direction Y is a shape that a lower part 6A1 of an inside part 6A along the body longitudinal direction X of the leakproof wall 6 can be in contact with a skin opposite face 1a of the absorbent body 5 when the leakproof wall 6 is pressed so as to squash the hollow part 60 toward the opposite side of the top part 6a of the loop from the top part 6a side.
