<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exchange lens and a camera body capable of carrying out communication well. <P>SOLUTION: The exchange lens has a contact LP12 for having driving voltage supplied for a lens driving section 212; a contact LP11 serving as a grounding terminal corresponding to the driving voltage; a contact LP3 for having clock signals transmitted; a contact LP4 and a contact LP5 for having data signals transmitted by synchronizing with the clock signals; a contact LP9 for having a clock signal transmitted; a contact LP10 for having a data signal transmitted by synchronizing with the clock signal; a contact LP6, a contact LP7, and a contact LP8 for having asynchronous signals which are not synchronized with the clock signals transmitted to a camera body 100; a contact LP1 for having operation voltage which is different from the driving voltage supplied; and a contact LP2 serving as a grounding terminal corresponding to the operation voltage, all of which are lined up in one row in a retaining section 202.
