<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle door lock device with downsized latch mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: A vehicle door lock device comprises: a latch mechanism 10 with a latch and a pole, and a lock mechanism 20 with an open lever 21 linked with the pole, the lock mechanism 20 being combined with the latch mechanism. A latch housing 15 of the latch mechanism 10 is provided with a shaft support part 15a at latch side for journaling a coil part 13a of a pole spring 13 that urges the pole toward an initial position. A lock housing 23 of the lock mechanism 20 is provided with a shaft support part 23 at lock side for journaling a coil part 22a of an open lever spring 22 that urges the open lever 21 toward the initial position. At least a part of the shaft support part 15a at latch side is overlapped with the shaft support part 23a at lock side for slip-off of the open lever spring 22. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
