<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain static buildup on an insulator surface supporting a cathode in an anode grounded type X-ray tube to prevent occurrence of surface discharges, thereby heightening the reliability of the X-ray tube. <P>SOLUTION: In an anode grounded type X-ray tube where an anode 209 is made a ground potential and a negative voltage is applied to a cathode 203 causing electrons emitted from the cathode 203 to impinge upon the anode 209 to generate X-rays, an insulator which supports the anode 203 is constructed with a base material 201 by covering it with a coating material 301 whose volume resistivity is 10<SP POS="POST">7</SP>to 10<SP POS="POST">14</SP>Ω cm, which is smaller than that of the base material, to restrain static buildup on the insulator, whereby insulation reliability is improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
