<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce swelling on a binding part of recording material bundle or booklet in which the binding processing is performed by means of a piece formed on a recording material. <P>SOLUTION: Sheets P, in which the drilling processing is performed with a drilling unit, are loaded on a compiling tray as shown in Fig.(A). Thereafter, as shown in Fig.(B), sheets P, in which the drilling processing is not performed, are loaded on the compiling tray. Thereafter, the binding processing by means of a needle-less binding unit is performed. Thereby, in the first place, a tongue-piece part 522 is formed on one side surface side of a sheet bundle T. Thereafter, the tongue-piece part 522 is pressed by a blade part. Thereby, the tongue-piece part 522 is folded and, at the same time, is caused to pass through a through-hole 524. Thereafter, the tongue-piece part 522 is pulled up with an eyelet of the blade. Thereby, the tongue-piece part 522 passes through a slit 521.
