The safety belt has a belt strap (3.1), which has multiple belt strap layers (3.1.1) in a chest strap area (B2), where pelvis strap area has a belt interior arranged between two belt strap layers and supplied with gas. The belt strap is guided through a recess (3.3.1) of a buckle tongue inserted in a seat belt buckle. The recess of the buckle tongue is designed such that in belt interior (3.6) assigned to the chest strap area is fluidic separated from the section of the belt interior assigned to the pelvic strap area (B1).
