Provided is a method for detaching a light-transmitting rigid substrate laminate without adhesive deposits. This method for detaching a light-transmitting rigid substrate laminate comprises: a step (1) for preparing a light-transmitting rigid substrate laminate in which two or more light-transmitting rigid substrates are attached to each other by a photocurable adhesive; and a step (2) for forming a plurality of separate light-transmitting rigid substrates by heating the light-transmitting rigid substrate laminate and detaching the light-transmitting rigid substrates from each other. The detaching method includes, in the step (2), making a first contact of the laminate with water 40 - 90°C higher than the glass transition temperature of a cured body of the photocurable adhesive, and next, making a second contact with water 5 - 25°C higher than the glass transition temperature.
