<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve thermal efficiency by suppressing reduction of an amount of liquid piston. <P>SOLUTION: A heat engine includes: a tubular container 11 in which a liquid piston 15 comprising a liquid-phase working medium is flowably sealed; an external evaporator 20 for generating steam of the working medium; a suction means 12 for allowing the container 11 to suck the steam generated by the external evaporator 20 thereinto; an output part 14 that converts displacement of the liquid piston 15, caused by expansion of the steam sucked into the container 11, into mechanical energy to output it; an exhaust means 13 for exhausting the steam from the container 11; and a liquid-piston supply means 19 that supplies a liquid-phase working medium to the inside of the container 11 when the amount of the liquid piston 15 inside the container 11 falls below the proper amount. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
