In the present invention, it is possible to favorably support an image reading device without an increase in the size of the device as a whole. The present invention is characterized by having: a recording device having a recording unit that executes recording at a medium; an image reading device that is provided openably/closably to the top of the recording device via a hinge unit and that has an image reading unit that reads an image; a first contact section that is provided to the image reading device and that, in the state of the image reading device being closed, contacts the housing of the recording device; a second contact section that is provided to the housing of the recording device and that, in the state of the image reading device being closed, contacts the first contact section; and a third contact section that is provided to a device frame that holds the recording unit and that contacts the housing of the recording device below the second contact section.
