The method involves passing the profiled rail (4) having total width, in a predetermined transport speed between the upper press roll (13) and lower press roll (14). The strip having a width smaller than the total width, is flat-pressed between the press rolls. The press rolls are arranged over the periphery in predetermined distance of the distributed press teeth. The circumferential speed of the press rolls corresponds to the transporting speed of the profiled rail. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) method for manufacturing covering sheet; (2) device for continuously pressing flat strip of profiled rail; and (3) plant for manufacturing covering sheet.
