PURPOSE: A display driving device and an image data compression and restoration method thereof are provided to effectively compress inputted image data in order to reduce memory use. CONSTITUTION: An encoder(110) respectively calculates errors due to a binary encoding mode and a differential pulse code modulation(DPCM) encoding mode. The encoder compresses input image data. A decoder(130) restores the compressed data. A source driver(140) operates source lines based on the restored data.
