VIBRATION DAMPER MATERIAL AND VIBRATION DAMPER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration damper material excellent in vibration-damping performance and lightweightness and also excellent in chemical resistance and hydrolysis resistance and to provide a vibration damper having such properties.

SOLUTION: The vibration damper material consists essentially of a 4-methyl-1-pentene/propylene copolymer (A) satisfying the following requirements (a) and (b): (a) the copolymer comprises 15-75 mol% structural units (i) derived from 4-methyl-1-pentene and 25-85 mol% structural units (ii) derived from propylene (wherein the total amount of the structural units (i) and the structural units (ii) is 100 mol%) and (b) the density is in the range of 830-860 kg/m3.
