A guard apparatus for protecting a wall cavity is disclosed comprising: a vertical retainer 100; and an inclined plate and mounted to one end of said retainer, the plate extending in a first direction at an angle away from the retainer towards a first edge 104, the plate extending in a second direction at an angle away from the retainer towards a second edge 105; wherein the first edge of the plate is parallel to the plane of, and in use is positioned above the elongate retainer; and wherein in use, the second edge is lower than the first. The inclined plate may be curved. The second edge may comprise a clip whereby a flexible sheet can be attached thereto. An independent claim is also included for a corner apparatus suitable for corner wall construction applications, including a 90 degree angle between two guards identical to those of the first invention when arranged in mutual contact. |
