The assembly has a ring diffuser (14) with an inner wall (48) that is arranged downstream to a shaft cover (32) of an annular flow channel (18). The diffuser is arranged downstream to a guide vane bar (16). A wall surface (50) of the inner wall and/or a wall surface (46) of an outer wall (44) are rotation-asymmetric in a section of the diffuser. A gap is formed at the wall surface of the inner wall. The section of the diffuser is arranged at an inflow-sided end (52) of the diffuser and runs in a rotation-asymmetrical section with respect to a flow direction of the diffuser.
