PURPOSE: A head drum for a conveyor and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to increase operation time by reducing maintenance time according as leggings are attached to a drum by a fastening part and the worn leggings are simply detached by the fastening part in replacement. CONSTITUTION: A head drum for a conveyor comprises a drum(20), leggings(30), and fastening parts(40). The drum is rotatably supported by a shaft member(22) to drive a conveyor belt. Multiple fastening holes(24) are longitudinally formed in the outer circumference of the drum at predetermined intervals. The leggings comprises multiple fastening part coupling holes(32) corresponding to the fastening holes of the drum. A metallic reinforcing core member is inserted inside the leggings. The fastening parts are inserted in the fastening part coupling holes of the leggings to be coupled to the fastening holes of the drum so that the leggings are attached to the outer circumference of the drum.
