Rigid ear tubes 10, 11, Fig. 1, of a stethoscope are joined to one or more U-shaped springs 48 by means of wire coils wrapped around each junction. Preferably the ends of the tubes are of reduced diameter and are out away, as at 39, Fig. 2, to provide a seating for the blade spring 27 and the latter is located by lugs on the tube engaging in recesses in the edges of the spring 10, see Fig. 3 (not shown). The coil 35 is then pressed over the assembly to secure it. The spring 48, Fig. 1, is located within a Y-shaped, flexible tube 14, the lower limb of which is connected to the stethoscope head. |
