Method and device for determining the hardness of a press-hardened component

The method involves heating a press-hardened component (B) to a predetermined temperature and transforming and cooling down press-hardened component in a hydraulic press. Surface temperatures of the press-hardened component are directly detected after cooling the press-hardened component in different surface areas and compared with target temperatures. The surface temperatures of the press-hardened component are detected in a set of discrete raster-like measuring points by a thermo-graphy camera, where the press-hardened component is inserted in a downstream measuring device (20). An independent claim is also included for a device for determining hardness of a press-hardened component, comprising a support.
