PURPOSE: A negative electrode active material for lithium secondary battery is provided to minimize the deterioration of electrode due to silicon volume change, and to improve electrical contact property, thereby obtaining high capacity, high energy density, cycle properties and life time properties. CONSTITUTION: A negative electrode active material comprises silicon nanoparticles of which diameter is 5-100 n. the silicon nano particle is a reaction byproduct due to a Siemens process. A manufacturing method of the silicon nanoparticles comprises: a step of obtaining gaseous monosilane or trichlorosilane by reacting metal silicon with hydrochloric acid; a step of reacting a heated ∩ type silicon rod with the monosilane or the trichlorosilane in a Siemens reactor; and a step of obtaining silicon nanoparticles generated on the side wall of the Siemens reactor. |
