PURPOSE: A composition is provided to contain a polyglyceryl thickener thereby suitable as a cleansing and/or washing composition. CONSTITUTION: A composition comprises: a base containing water and surfactant, and a polyglyceryl thickener containing one or more compound. The compound comprises a node structure containing C4-12, one or more (poly)glyceryl groups, and one or more hydrophobic moiety. Each (poly)glyceryl group is connected to the node structure by a first main linker. Each hydrophobic moiety is connected to the node structure by a main linker, or connected to one of the (poly)glyceryl groups by a sub-linker.
