[Also in Division B5] An adhesive applicator which is moulded in a mould (see Divisions B4-B5) comprises a raised pattern 1 on one side of and integral with a sheet 2 of soft polyvinylchloride, and provided with a backing cloth coated with polyacrylester by means of which the applicator is adhered to the rotary drum 11 of an adhesive applying mechanism. Adhesive is transferred from a trough 14 to the raised pattern of the applicator via rollers 13, 12 and is transferred to workpieces such as envelopes passed between the drum and a pressure roller 15. |
