<p>PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for sensing touch input are provided to be applied to various sizes of electronic devices with low costs by accurately classifying multi touch and single touch without enhancing the density of a sensing electrode. CONSTITUTION: An acquisition unit(810) obtains a sensing signal generated by touch input for each a sensing channel. A determining unit(820) determines a maximum sensing signal from the obtained sensing signal. A calculation unit(830) calculates the change amount of the sensing signal between the sensing channels. A decision unit(840) classifies the touch input into multi or single touch by comparing the sum of the change amount to the maximum sensing signal. The decision unit decides the touch input as the multi touch if the sum of the change amount exceeds two times of the maximum sensing signal.</p> |
