<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain weight of a developer in a developer container at a constant level and facilitate adjustment of toner concentration to a desired value without suspending a printing operation. <P>SOLUTION: A development device includes: a developer container 11 for housing a developer including toner and a carrier; a developer conveying means 12 and 13 for circulating the developer housed in the developer container 11 while agitating it; a developer replenishing means 25 for replenishing developer into the developer container 11; a developer discharging means 14 for discharging the developer from the developer container 11; a developer weight detection means 6 for detecting the weight of the developer in the developer container 11; and a replenishment amount determination means 6 for determining an amount of developer to be replenished by the developer replenishing means 25 based on the weight of the developer detected by the developer weight detection means 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
