摘要 PURPOSE: An aluminum alloy for the bottom chassis of an LED backlight unit, a method of manufacturing the aluminum alloy, a bottom chassis using the aluminum alloy, and a flat panel display apparatus using the aluminum alloy are provided to reduce the thickness and weight of a bottom chassis by securing an aluminum alloy with superior tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation ratio. CONSTITUTION: An aluminum alloy for the bottom chassis of an LED backlight unit comprises manganese of 0.80-1.25 weight%, magnesium of 0.80-1.30weight%, copper of 0.05-0.20weight%, silicon of 0.15-0.35 weight%, iron of 0.35-0.75weight%, zinc of 0.20 weight% or less, chrome of 0.01-0.06weight%, and aluminum and inevitable impurities of the remaining amount. The aluminum alloy has a tensile strength of 170MPa or greater, a yield strength of 70-90MPa, and an elongation ratio of 23% or greater.
