Producing a premolding, comprises: (a) providing an open forming tool (1), which has a lower mold (2) and a movably arranged upper mold (4), relative to the lower mold; (b) mounting a reinforcing mat (7), preferably a reinforcing mat made of a fibrous material in a tenter frame (8), which has a tenter frame-upper part and a tenter frame-lower part in the region between the lower mold and upper mold; (c) closing the forming tool by driving up the upper mold on the lower mold; and (d) opening the forming tool by upward displacement of the upper mold. Producing a premolding, comprises: (a) providing an open forming tool (1), which has a lower mold (2) and a movably arranged upper mold (4), relative to the lower mold, where the upper mold is driven away from the lower mold by an open path; (b) mounting a reinforcing mat (7), preferably a reinforcing mat made of a fibrous material in a tenter frame (8), which has a tenter frame-upper part and a tenter frame-lower part in the region between the lower mold and upper mold; (c) closing the forming tool by driving up the upper mold on the lower mold, where a clamping force is exerted on the upper mold for partial transferring of the upper part of the tenter frame from the upper mold via a top spring assembly, and the tenter frame is pressed by back-pressure force exerted against a lower spring assembly in the direction of the lower mold to the end position of the tenter frame; and (d) opening the forming tool by upward displacement of the upper mold, such that the upward pressure of the tenter frame-lower part is damped by a damping device of the lower spring assembly.
