PURPOSE: A remote elevator monitoring system and a controlling method thereof are provided to reduce installation costs by simplifying equipment installed in an elevator. CONSTITUTION: An elevator control device(100) outputs operation event data which shows the operation state of an elevator. A data transmitting device(200) transmits the operation event data to a remote monitoring server(400) through a data communication network(300). The remote monitoring server generates statistical data by processing the operation event data. A remote monitoring client(500) displays information processed on the remote monitoring server to an administrator. A customer terminal(700) is used as an elevator state display terminal in a building.
