摘要 PURPOSE: A system and a method for controlling a driving mode of an electric bicycle are provided to automatically control motor-assisting ratio requiring for pedal force according to the topography of driving roads by detecting gradients without direct set-up input. CONSTITUTION: A system for controlling a driving mode of an electric bicycle comprises a torque detecting part(110), an inclination angle detecting part(130), a control part(150), and a motor driving circuit part(170). The torque detecting part detects pedal force. The inclination angle detecting part detects the gradient of driving roads. The control part calculates motor-assisting torques in a motor-assisting mode based of the pedal force and the gradient detected from the torque detecting part and the inclination angle detecting part, and outputs motor control signals depending on the calculated motor-assisting torque. The motor driving circuit part controls the drive of a motor(102) depending on the motor control signals outputted from the control part. The control part controls motor assistance using the motor-assisting torque calculated from the pedal force and the gradient so that the motor-assisting ratio regarding to the pedal force can be automatically controlled depending on the gradient of the driving roads.
