PURPOSE: A battery pack is provided to quickly detect the leakage of electrolyte by high accuracy, thereby quickly taking a measure according to the leakage of electrolyte. CONSTITUTION: A battery pack comprises: a can(20) in which an electrode assembly(10) is accepted; a battery cell(100) containing a cap plate(30) sealing the can; an upper cover(160) assembled on the cap plate; a gas sensor(180) detecting the leakage of electrolyte, arranged between the cap plate and the upper cover; and a protective circuit module(150), which is arranged between the cap plate and the upper cover, stopping charging and discharging battery cells according to the power signal of the gas senor, and forcibly discharging the battery cells. |
