GENE INVOLVED IN THE BIOSYNTHESIS OF GALBONOLIDE

PURPOSE: A gene related to galbonolid biosynthesis is provided to control the biosynthesis and to produce a large amount of galbonolid with an antifungal activity. CONSTITUTION: A gene encoding a protein for galbonolide encodes an amino acid of sequence number 8, 9, or 10. A composition enhancing galbonolide biosynthesis contains an expression vector of the galbonolide biosynthetic gene. The composition additionally contains an expression vector of methoxymalonyl-acyl carrier biosynthesis gene selected from a gene encoding amino acids of sequence numbers 1-5. A method for preparing galbonolide comprises: a step of transducing the composition to galbonolide biosynthetic strain: and a step of culturing the strain and collecting galbonolide.
