PURPOSE: A video on demand service providing apparatus in a digital cable broadcasting applying cloud computing environment, providing method thereof, and computer readable recording medium are provided to offer a VOD service in a digital cable broadcasting by applying cloud computing environment in the digital cable broadcasting. CONSTITUTION: A media cloud(140) is constituted by a virtualized server. A management server(130) manages video content information. When the overload of the media cloud is recognized, the management server increases the number of the virtualized server. A STB(Set Top Box)(110) receives the video content information from the management server. The STB requests the selected video content to the media cloud. The STB reproduces the received video content.
