<p>A header assembly (20) useful with a columnar lift gate is provided. In one embodiment, the header assembly includes an elongated header element (15) having a top wall (3T) with distal ends, the top wall having an upwardly protruding edge portion (9) extending between the distal ends, wherein the elongated header element (15) is configured for horizontal coupling to an upper edge of a vehicle opening. The header assembly may further comprise a pair of columnar sleeves (8), each columnar sleeve (8) configured for transverse connection proximate a distal end of the elongated header element (15). The columnar sleeves (8) are further configured for coupling along side edges of the vehicle opening in parallel to one another and perpendicular to the elongated header element (15). Each columnar sleeve (8) is configured for receiving an upper portion of a lifting column (10) of a columnar lift gate (13) mounted at said opening of the vehicle, each lifting column (10) mounted to a side edge of the vehicle opening under a respective columnar sleeve (8).</p> |
