PURPOSE: A method for rapidly charging a battery for an electric vehicle is provided to prevent the overheat of the battery due to rapid charging by controlling a rapid charging degree when a temperature or voltage rises over a specific value. CONSTITUTION: A battery is connected to a charger(S510). The battery is rapidly charged for a preset time(S520). The temperature and charging voltage of the battery approach a preset temperature and a preset charging voltage(S530). The charging current of each cell of the battery is decreased(S540). A charging operation of the battery is completed(S550).
