PURPOSE: A multi-stage separation type cigarette is provided to reduce fire generation risk due to cigarette light and to enable a user to check smoking amount. CONSTITUTION: A multi-stage separation type cigarette comprises a tobacco part(10) and a filter part(20) locating in one end of the tobacco part. A flame retardant filter(30) is inserted in order to divide the tobacco part in the longitudinal direction for prevention of successive burning of the tobacco part. The flame retardant filter is made of flame retardant resin.
