PURPOSE: A positive electrode active material is provided to secure the high battery capacity by the high contents of nickel and a stable crystalline structure, and to improve the safety of a battery by controlling the reactivity of a Li- containing by-product. CONSTITUTION: A positive electrode active material contains a lithium Ni-Mn-Cobalt Oxide marked with the chemical formula: Li_xM_yO_2. The Ni-Mn-Cobalt Oxide is covered with Al_2O_3 to control the reactivity of a Li- containing by-product. In the chemical formula, M is Ni_(1-a-b)Mn_aCo_b. X is 0.95~1.05. The Ni-Mn-Cobalt Oxide is a particle with an agglomerated structure formed with micro particle aggregate. |
