PURPOSE: A shaft and yoke assembly is provided that it prevents from the stress being focused on the bolt combining groove after the assembly, the generation of the accident which does not want as well as the reliability enhancement of product can be prevented in advance. CONSTITUTION: A shaft and yoke assembly comprises a shaft(5), an yoke(7), and a bolt(8). The shaft comprises a serration part(51) and a flat side part(53). In the serration part, concaved a bolt combining groove(52) is formed in the end part according to the columnar direction. The serration part is formed from the bolt combining groove into the end opposite side of the end part according to the axial direction. The flat side part is located from the bolt combining groove to the end of the end part. In the yoke, the serration hole is formed in one side. A bolt hole(72) is formed so that the yoke be communicated in the serration hole the right angle with a serration hole(71). The bolt is inserted and jointed in the bolt hole of the yoke, passes through the bolt combining groove of shaft.
