PURPOSE: A system and a method for drying high water content materials are provided to reduce the time for drying high water content solid materials by moving the high water content solid material to increase contact with a heat medium in an evaporating dryer. CONSTITUTION: A system for drying high water content materials comprises an evaporating dryer(110), a droplet collector(120), a compressor(130), a heat exchanger(140), and a circulating pipe(150). The evaporating dryer dries a high water content solid material by making contact with a heat medium. The droplet collector collects droplets of the heat medium from evaporative gas produced while drying the high water content solid material. The compressor insulates and compresses water vapor from the evaporative gas. The heat exchanger heats the heat medium discharged from the evaporating dryer using the compressed water vapor. The circulating pipe supplies the heat medium discharged from the evaporative dryer to the heat exchanger and the heat medium heat-exchanged by the heat exchanger to the evaporative dryer.
