Open-face- or jet-type protective helmet and uses thereof, comprising a shell (1), a fold-down visor (2) for protecting the eyes, the face and the jaw, totally or partially, a deployable protection and retention system housed in the inner or outer part of the shell (1), which in turn comprises at least two rigid or semi-rigid protective devices (3) that are deployed after an impact and retain and protect the user's head, means for transmission of the impact variable from the visor (2) to the protection and retention system, and a system (14) for connecting the visor (2) to the transmission means. The present helmet can be used in those sectors where helmets are designed, produced or used such as, for example, the sectors of agriculture, machinery and mechanical equipment, electric, electronic and optical material and equipment, material for transport or material for individual protection of people.
