Disclosed are a data transmission method and an apparatus thereof. The method comprises: allocating uplink resources within a guard interval between a TDD system and an FDD system to a user equipment for uplink data transmission, wherein the guard interval resources allocated to the user equipment is temporally synchronous to uplink resources of the TDD system; and/or, allocating downlink resources within the guard interval between the TDD system and the FDD system to the user equipment for downlink data transmission, wherein the guard interval resources allocated to the user equipment is temporally synchronous to downlink resources of the TDD system. The present invention improves the spectrum utilization of the TDD system by using the guard band between the spectrum of the FDD system and the spectrum of the TDD system.
