Provided are an image display apparatus or the like that makes it possible to display a reading screen early after the acquisition of image data captured by a capsule endoscope. The image display apparatus comprises: a memory unit (55) for storing intracorporeal image data acquired via a receiving device from a capsule endoscope that captures an intracorporeal image of a subject, and for storing information associated with the intracorporeal image data and related to the position of the capsule endoscope within the subject; a position information acquisition unit (57) for acquiring position information of the capsule endoscope when each intracorporeal image is captured, by estimating the position on the basis of the information related to the position; a priority image determination unit (61) for determining whether each intracorporeal image satisfies a predetermined condition; and a priority processing control unit (62) for controlling the position information acquisition unit so as to estimate the position with priority being given to an intracorporeal image determined to satisfy the predetermined condition in the priority image determination unit.
