PURPOSE: An intermediate gas valve apparatus and a control method thereof are provided to prevent fire due to gas leakage by precisely measuring the gas leakage. CONSTITUTION: A control method of an intermediate gas valve apparatus is as follows. Base on flow of gas on a gas supply channel between a gas valve and gas equipment, whether the gas is exhaust or not is determined(S220). If the gas exhaustion is determined, the gas valve is temporarily opened so that the gas supply channel is filled with the gas. If the filled gas is exhausted within one hour, it is determined as gas exhaustion. According to the determination of the gas exhaustion, control signals for cutting off the gas valve are outputted. In response to the control signals for cutting off the gas valve, the gas valve is completely cut off(S223).
