The present invention relates to an electric lighter comprising: a main body having an insertion groove for the insertion of a cigarette, and a cover for opening/closing the insertion groove; a heat-generating element arranged in the insertion groove to light the cigarette; a power supply unit for supplying power to the heat-generating element; and a switch unit for switching the power being supplied from the power supply unit to the heat-generating element on/off, wherein the switch unit includes a first switch and a second switch which are turned on in series, wherein the second switch is switched on when the cigarette is inserted into the insertion groove after the first switch is switched on. |
